The story : an iconic figure never reedited
« Discovered early morning, the geometric shapes and the lines of those two armchairs caught my eyes. The possibility they offered appeared as an evidence to me , I loved them immediately. »
Icon from the 50’s, the Troïka armchair was designed in Pierre Guariche’s workhouse by Paul Geoffroy in 1958. Edited by Airborne it has never been re-edited since, and is now treasured by the design collectors.
This modernist item has great elegance with soft geometric lines. Thanks to its high back, it is comfortable to be sit on. It has a special suspension system with the multi-springs profile from Freespan (Jackpot model).
Airborne is one of the most influencial design companies from the XXth C. They have originated many collaborations with designers from the 50’s and 60’s.
The cloth: An exclusive cocktail
The design has been created by the textile studio Nathalie Chapuis. It is part of the Leopold collection which offers original patterns with an eccentric touch. « Masterpiece » is a pattern which shows movement and spontaneity. The naive drawing is an authentic and instinctive expression of emotions. Just like a graph, it drives the spectator into a continuous dance, with street art energy. The bright primary tones contrasts with the natural tone from the fabric, which gives a very contemporary look. The green velvet provides calm and comfort sensation. The creative balance of plain and pattern gives to the armchairs a unique touch. They are timeless pieces with a real identity.
